Text and/or other creative content from this version of Norman Cross was copied or moved into Prisoner of war with this edit. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists. |

Added reference to women's creative work as prisoners in Changi

The handwork of the women civilian detainees in Changi was also dangerous and added from new citation. If there is a better page for this please redirect rather than delete. Thank you

Contradiction
[edit]The first sentence says that POWs are non-combatants, but the Qualifications section says that they must be lawful combatants. Jim Michael (talk) 19:03, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

I see this is fairly old but doesn’t seem to have been resolved? Could the confusion be that only lawful combatants qualify for POW status upon capture or surrender? OgamD218 (talk) 19:09, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- And that once they are POWs, then they are non-combatants and have to be treated as such. That may have been the original intention.Venqax (talk) 17:06, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
Popular Culture, Two Questions Add Books? Move to its own Page(s)?
[edit]I was surprised to find that this subject did not have its own page. It also deserves more than just a list. Surely there is history on and analysis of the fiction and non-fiction coming out of these experiences? I lack the time and the expertise Merry medievalist (talk) 19:48, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
Greek empire?
[edit]Surely this should state Roman/Byzantine? 2A04:4A43:50CF:EF1F:C87D:D4A0:37D0:3EBE (talk) 18:25, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Corrected it. The source also makes no mention of "Greek Empire", it only uses "Roman Empire". Alin2808 (talk) 10:05, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
