Explanation wanted re: "new AFL/VFL record" supposedly set in 1995.
[edit]"In the year of its last premiership in 1995, Carlton set a new AFL/VFL record by losing only two games for the entire season having been beaten by the Sydney Swans and St Kilda. This record stood until 2000 when rivals Essendon went through the entire season losing only one game against the Western Bulldogs."
What "new record" is being referred to in this paragraph? Collingwood's 1929 side went through the entire home and away season undefeated, winning all 18 matches (they did, however, lose the Second Semi Final that year). This needs to be clarified. BruceDuperouzel (talk) 23:48, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure 20 games is more than 18 games, so it's a mathematical fact that Carlton's 1995 season beats Collingwood's 1929 one. This is before we even consider the fact that Carlton won the Premiership that year, on top of their home and away dominance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.250.0.1 (talk) 08:19, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Uniforms
[edit]I dont find the "blue plan" in the official website. Monogram maybe is copyright of the club. Logos, trademarks (AFL, Nike, Hyunday) are with copyright. We can not upload guernseys with monograms, logos and trademarks in Wikimedia Commons. The sides are in the clash kit file with the right size (because they are not visible in their full size). In any case, if you don't like the uniforms in the infobox, at least don't delete the parameters of the infobox, please. Maybe, someone else make the uniforms you like. --IM-yb (talk) 00:06, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
- I stand corrected on the blue panel. I was referring to the 2015 clash guernsey and had been unaware that there was a change for this year. Aspirex (talk) 00:08, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Proposed Mick Malthouse picture
[edit]I'm bringing this here because it's one of the clubs Mick has been associated with. I'm just seeking a few more views on a discussion underway about an image an editor has proposed for the article. See the article history and the Tak page. HiLo48 (talk) 03:18, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
Italian supporter base
[edit]How about including something about the club's large Italian supporter-base?
- A reasonable request, but we would need a reliable source to support whatever is added. HiLo48 (talk) 01:42, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
Foundation Date
[edit]The article says the following:
"The Carlton Football Club is widely cited as having formed in July 1864 though numerous sources connect it to a Carlton Football Club that existed as early as 1860-1862."
This statement is not correct. It should read:
"The Carlton Football Club is widely cited as having formed in July 1864 though numerous historical sources cite its formation three years earlier in May 1861"
unfortunately most of the sources have since been removed though it is definitely worth further research.
The Carlton Football Club itself is actively investigating its origins.

In the team of the century text:
"The five players with an asterisk(*) are also members of the AFL Team of the Century – the largest number of any AFL club."
Reads as 5 players in the AFL Team of the Century represented Carlton but Ron Barassi played 50 games for Carlton and is part of the AFL Team of the Century but not Carlton's.
Suggest rewording:
"The five players with an asterisk (*) are also members of the AFL Team of the Century, contributing to Carlton's record of having the most representatives (6) from any AFL club." 49.190.100.193 (talk) 12:34, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
